Maria Karolidou: Design Your Mind

Created by Otto Studio and Paola Navone for  INTERNI Materiae 2026 , the installation transformed matter into vibration — as though wood, stone, metal, water, and fabric had finally found the courage to speak. In the context of  Materiae , the installation proposed a profound spiritual idea: that matter itself is alive with frequency. That every object carries accumulated histories — of extraction, touch, labor, weather, memory, human presence. And that listening carefully to material may also mean listening more carefully to the world. Within the ancient body of the Università degli Studi di Milano, where stone corridors carry centuries of thought and silence, Busan Echoes  appeared like a distant tide arriving from another world. Created by Migliore+Servetto for  INTERNI Materiae 2026 , the installation did not attempt to reproduce the city of Busan. Instead, it summoned its invisible essence — its rhythm of sea and mountain, its spiritual density, its atmosphere suspended between meditation and movement. Senza Fine  —  without end  — was not an installation to observe from a distance. It was a current to enter, a flowing organism made of light, reflection, and perpetual transformation. Nothing stood still. Curves unfolded into other curves. Surfaces dissolved into luminous continuities. Walls no longer behaved like boundaries but like membranes between realities. The architecture seemed to breathe. Senza Fine  — χωρίς τέλος — δεν ήταν μια εγκατάσταση για να την παρατηρείς από απόσταση. Ήταν ένα ρεύμα στο οποίο έμπαινες, ένας ρέων οργανισμός από φως, αντανάκλαση και αέναη μεταμόρφωση. Τίποτα δεν έμενε ακίνητο. Οι καμπύλες ξεδιπλώνονταν σε άλλες καμπύλες. Garden Senato Elisa Ossino Studio Inside the hidden stillness of  Garden Senato , far from the noise of traffic and ambition, Elisa Ossino created not simply a space, but a condition of listening. Stone, light, shadow, water, and silence were arranged with the tenderness of a prayer. Nothing excessive. Nothing shouting for attention. Only balance. PortraitMilano Audi Audi called the place the  House of Progress , but progress here did not roar. It whispered. The installation spoke of subtraction — removing excess until only emotion remained.                                                  HouseofPolpa Mutti Mapei fuorisalone 2026 Tomato. Warm, familiar, almost domestic — the scent of kitchens, summers, and hands stained red by memory. With  House of Polpa , Mutti and Mapei transformed the most ordinary object imaginable — a can of tomato pulp — into architecture.  Not monumental architecture. Not cold architecture. But something alive. Twenty thousand red cans rose beneath the arches like a temporary cathedral of nourishment, their metallic skins catching the light until the entire structure glowed. Ντομάτα. RUBELLI Ai Weiwei About Silk In  About Silk , Ai Weiwei and Rubelli transformed memory into a language of resistance and fragility. Not merely textiles. Not merely decoration. But woven philosophy. The fabrics seemed to carry two worlds at once: the ancient rhythm of Venetian craftsmanship and the restless contemporary gaze of Ai Weiwei — an artist who has spent his life questioning borders, power, and permanence. LuceMassiccia ILTILuce Milano 2026 Luce Massiccia alla Statale , created by Alexander Bellman and Gruppo C14 for ILTI Luce during Fuorisalone 2026, transformed the historic university into a constellation drawn by invisible hands.  Thin luminous lines crossed vaults and columns like delicate digital pencils suspended in the air. They did not dominate the architecture. They listened to it. UnMaterial Lissoni Sanlorenzo In the quiet courtyard of Milan, where stone remembers centuries and shadows move more slowly than people, a yacht appeared without ever fully arriving. UN_Material  was not built like an object. It was breathed into existence. Piero Lissoni stripped away weight, surface, certainty — until only the soul of a vessel remained: a floating outline suspended between architecture and memory. FUORISALONE 2026: THE VIDEO The video opens at dusk, somewhere between golden hour and electric blue. Milan is vibrating. Trams slide through wet streets, neon reflections flicker on cobblestones, and the city feels temporarily transformed into an open-air film set. Cut to immersive installations: translucent glass glowing in dark rooms, metallic fabrics moving with air currents, projections washing over raw architecture. Hands touch textured surfaces. Cameras flash. Someone laughs in the background. The editing becomes faster, more rhythmic.  The final sequence is almost dreamlike: blurred lights, moving crowds, fragments of conversations in different languages, giant projections against old Milanese facades, and one last aerial shot of the city glowing after midnight.
