Urban Up | Unipol, “Light Our Fire”, De Castillia 23 Milano
Urban Up | Unipol at Fuorisalone 2026 revolved around “Light Our Fire”, a monumental kinetic installation by Studio Azzurro on the façade of De Castillia 23, completing a four-year cycle dedicated to the natural elements. The work transformed the building into a luminous representation of the Earth's incandescent core.
During Fuorisalone 2026, Urban Up | Unipol transformed De Castillia 23 into a monumental canvas where architecture, light, and collective consciousness converged. With “Light Our Fire”, Studio Azzurro turned the building's façade into a living organism, pulsating with energy and perpetual transformation.
The installation completed a four-year journey inspired by the primordial elements. After water, air, and earth, fire emerged as the final protagonist: a symbol of creative force, knowledge, passion, and responsibility. The façade evoked the incandescent core of the Earth, radiating an energy that was both ancient and profoundly contemporary.
Composed of hundreds of moving recycled polycarbonate panels, the work constantly shifted according to light and perspective, transforming a corporate building into a dynamic public artwork. Architecture ceased to be a static structure and became an active storyteller, narrating humanity's relationship with nature, technology, and the future of the planet.
Inspired by the myth of Prometheus, who gifted fire to humankind, the installation invited visitors to reflect not only on energy as a planetary resource, but also on the inner flame that drives creativity, curiosity, and human progress. Fire became both a collective and an intimate metaphor: a force capable of generating, transforming, and renewing.
Κατά τη διάρκεια του Fuorisalone 2026, το Urban Up | Unipol μετέτρεψε το De Castillia 23 σε έναν μνημειακό καμβά όπου η αρχιτεκτονική, το φως και η συλλογική συνείδηση συναντήθηκαν. Με την εγκατάσταση «Light Our Fire», το Studio Azzurro μεταμόρφωσε την πρόσοψη του κτιρίου σε έναν ζωντανό οργανισμό που πάλλεται από ενέργεια και διαρκή μεταμόρφωση.
Η εγκατάσταση ολοκλήρωσε ένα τετραετές ταξίδι αφιερωμένο στα πρωταρχικά στοιχεία της φύσης. Μετά το νερό, τον αέρα και τη γη, η φωτιά αναδείχθηκε ως ο τελικός πρωταγωνιστής: ένα σύμβολο δημιουργικής δύναμης, γνώσης, πάθους και ευθύνης. Η πρόσοψη απέδιδε τον πυρακτωμένο πυρήνα της Γης, ακτινοβολώντας μια ενέργεια ταυτόχρονα αρχέγονη και βαθιά σύγχρονη.
Αποτελούμενο από εκατοντάδες κινούμενα πάνελ ανακυκλωμένου πολυκαρβονικού υλικού, το έργο μεταβαλλόταν διαρκώς ανάλογα με το φως και την οπτική γωνία, μετατρέποντας ένα αστικό κτίριο σε ένα δυναμικό δημόσιο έργο τέχνης. Η αρχιτεκτονική έπαψε να είναι μια στατική κατασκευή και έγινε ένας ενεργός αφηγητής της σχέσης του ανθρώπου με τη φύση, την τεχνολογία και το μέλλον του πλανήτη.
Αντλώντας έμπνευση από τον μύθο του Προμηθέα, που χάρισε τη φωτιά στην ανθρωπότητα, η εγκατάσταση προσκαλούσε τους επισκέπτες να αναλογιστούν όχι μόνο την ενέργεια ως πλανητικό πόρο, αλλά και την εσωτερική φλόγα που τροφοδοτεί τη δημιουργικότητα, την περιέργεια και την ανθρώπινη εξέλιξη. Η φωτιά μετατρεπόταν ταυτόχρονα σε συλλογική και προσωπική μεταφορά: μια δύναμη ικανή να δημιουργεί, να μεταμορφώνει και να αναγεννά.
Στο Fuorisalone 2026, το Urban Up | Unipol απέδειξε ότι η αστική αρχιτεκτονική μπορεί να υπερβεί τη λειτουργική της διάσταση και να μετατραπεί σε ένα πολιτιστικό τοπίο που ενθαρρύνει τον διάλογο ανάμεσα στη βιωσιμότητα, τη δημόσια τέχνη και την ανθρώπινη φαντασία.
